Origin and Background: (Japanese)  Soko was born in Kawasaki City, located in the Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Her parents were both research scientists who worked for the Japanese government on a variety of top secret projects. Unlike her parents, Soko persued a career as a model and became one of Japan's top models.

It wasn't until the mysterious death of her parents that her life took an unexpected turn. The very next day, she received a large parcel in the mail. To her surprise, it was a strange metallic costume with a note from her father. The note explained that should she be reading this - it means that he and her mother are dead but he had prepared for that eventuality. He made arrangements that she would receive his life's work - the 'Inseki Suuto' which was created from an alien metal that was discovered in several meteorites.

The note went on to explain that she must wear the suit for her own protection since his enemies would certainly come looking for her next. She must do all she can to stop the suit from falling into the hands of those who would abuse the technology. He explained that an sinister organization known as 'Satsujin Ryodan' (aka the Murder Brigade) were after his research and would do anything to acquire the suit.

Soko had just enough time to try on the 'Inseki Suit' before the wall of her apartment exploded into many fragments. Several armoured men in high-tech suits flew toward her while their fired their energy weapons. All that Soko could think of was escape and suddenly the suit sprang to life and she was flying into the sky outracing her pursuers.

Shooting Star spent some time getting used to her new suit and its abilities. The strange, alien metal that covered her body seemed to react instantly to her every thought. Her new confidence with her 'Inseki Suuto' was a surprise to the White Tiger Commando unit sent to capture her. She quickly disabled their attack hovercraft and forced the Murder Brigade commandos to ditch into the Tokyo Bay. This battle attracted the attention of the Japanese government and Shooting Star became a national hit from the news coverage alone. Soko has continued with her modeling career while pursuing her more adventurous activities.
