When he is in his human form he has no other powers and no memory of his time as Seaspawn. The two personas are unaware of each other. Should Dr. McKinney ever become submerged in sea water, he will transform back as Seaspawn. He cannot control his transformation (cost movement only to transform either way).

Origin and Background: (American) Oceanologist and shark expert, Dr. Michael McKinney was exploring the ocean floor off the coast of Australia when he spotted several sharks looming towards his position. He instantly recognized the sharks as members of the Shortfin Mako species. Dr. McKinney was all too aware of their fierce reputation. He knew he couldn't reach his boat without the Mako sharks catching up to him. McKinney decided he had to wait it out. He moved closer to the nearby coral reef in the hope that the sharks would take no notice of him. Unfortunately this would not be the case. He watched as they circled above his position.
Suddenly the sharks surged for his position. The last thing McKinney will remember is him mentally screaming, 'Mako Sharks!', and then rows after rows of teeth ripped through his flesh. His scream was quickly silenced by the surrounding crimson soaked ocean. Dr. Michael McKinney died as the sharks gorged themselves on his shredded body.
Unknown to the general public, this coral reef has been used as an illegal dumping site for a multinational biogenetic company known as Toho BioTech. The years submerged in the ocean have taken their toll on the drums. The salt water has eaten at the metal and several leaks have occurred. The remains of Dr. McKinney drifted slowly through an effervescence of mutagenic waste.
McKinney's remains developed a hazy milky coating as mutagenic DNA strands merge with its human host. The constant twitching of McKinney's body, as it endured a mutagenic barrage, attracted the attention of a passing Mako shark. It dived in for the kill and took a solid bite of McKinney. Something unexpected happened, the shark was also infected by the mutagenic particles and it was merged with the human host...
What awakes, some days later, from its genetically altering cocoon is no longer completely human, or shark, but something much more. This new being stood just under seven feet tall. His skin was smooth and sleek like a sharks. He looked a humanoid shark with slight "fins" at the elbows, back of the thighs, and on the top of his head. He also has a dark spotted streak that runs from the top of his nose, over his head "fin" and then down his back. He doesn't remember his past as oceanologist, Dr. Michael McKinney. All he remembers are his animalistic shark instincts - hunt, attack, and feed. Something sinister has been released on the world's Pacific Ocean.

Legal Status: Citizen of the United States of America, with no criminal record. Officially considered to be deceased, it isn't widely known that Dr. McKinnery and Seaspawn are one and the same.
