Criminal characters hail from families that have a long tradition of criminal association. From their earliest moments, the characters are taught the importance of belonging to the "Family". It doesn't matter if this Family is the Mafia, the Tongs, the Yakuza, or even the local neighborhood gang, they all stress loyalty and obedience in its members. You serve the Family and it will protect you. You betray the Family and you will find yourself outside of its protection.
Criminal characters are not all Gangsters either. Some will leave the Family behind them and persue other classes, but they still have their old connections should they need help, or should the Family need something from them. As long as the Criminal character doesn't betray the Family, they allow him a bit of leeway as he pursues his own goals.
Criminal Origin Benefits:
Player Characters starting with this origin are perhaps a member of the Venusian Space Vixen expeditionary force who have decided that Earth isn't all that bad after all. Perhaps they have fallen in love with a human male (or female, or culture, or what have you) and do not wish to see the human race enslaved or slaughtered as an animal. Whatever the reasons, a Player Character with the Venusian Vixen Origin will be seen by her sisters as a renegade who has lost her ways and who must be brought back to her sisters (by force if necessary). Check the Space Vixens from Venus NPCs for further background information.
